Silicon Solution Engineer – Chip Validation
We are seeking a highly experienced Silicon Solution Engineer to join our Hardware team as a lead or key member in post-silicon validation. In this role, you will take ownership of engineering sample chip bring-up on evaluation boards (EVBs) and develop and apply validation solutions to verify functionality, performance, and power characteristics of our silicon products.
Responsibilities and Opportunities
- Lead early-stage software development for test solutions using pre-silicon prototypes (Emulation/Simulation)
- Perform chip bring-up, functional verification, and validation using pre-silicon prototypes and EVBs
- Develop and operate test frameworks for automated functional and characteristic verification of each chip
- Analyze defects not captured through EDS/ATE and develop additional screening tests
- Identify optimal operating conditions (voltage, frequency, throttling) under thermal-bound systems
- Design and implement Proof-of-Concept (PoC) software to validate novel architecture experiments (e.g., AI/ML task scheduling, dynamic power management) defined by the HW team
- Build and maintain a reusable test platform applicable to various architectures (Cortex-A/M, RV32/64), platforms (Virtual, Simulation, Emulation, FPGA, EVB), and chiplet/products
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development and silicon validation
- Proven experience in system validation and issue resolution using EVBs or target boards
- Proficiency in driver development for Linux Kernel and embedded OS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
Ideal Qualifications
- Deep understanding of various CPU architectures (Cortex-A/M, RV32/64) and platforms
- Experience in power and performance analysis and developing dynamic power management software
- Hands-on experience with post-silicon validation for memory technologies (e.g., SDRAM, HBM) and high-speed I/O interfaces (e.g., PCIe, CXL, UCIe)
